Shop donates ?650,000 and counting...

by isleofman.com 12th March 2014

Manx charities are benefiting from a second-hand shop that has given hundreds of thousands of pounds since it opened 13 years ago.

Peel Charity Shop has just made its latest donation, distributing ?40,000 between 20 charities. The shop on Peel seafront is run purely by volunteers which means it can donate most of the money it makes in sales to smaller charities who find it difficult to get funds.

Secretary of the charity shop, Margaret Lowry said: 'The trustees, committee and volunteers of Peel Charity Shop would like to thank all those who donate items to the shop, all our customers and all the general public who continue to support us. Please continue to bring your unwanted items of clothing, bric-a-brac etc. to the shop to enable us to continue supporting other charities.'
