Treasury minister welcomes report findings

by isleofman.com 12th March 2014
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says a report into the Kirk Michael land-swap deal has vindicated the decisions he made.
A select committee investigating the deal released a second report after receiving new evidence from disgraced former clerk to Braddan Commissioners Charles “Buster” Lewin.
He’s currently serving a jail term for election fraud.
But the committee said Tynwald shouldn’t give any credence to claims made by Lewin, who at the time worked for Heritage Homes, adding none of his allegations had been proven.
The deal would have seen part of Michael School’s playing field given to the developer in return for land at the back of the school.
Mr Teare, who was education minister at the time, has welcomed the findings of the latest report:Clip 1
