Standard Bank staff in the Isle of Man have raised over ?200 for the local charity, Manx Miracles, all by just coming to work in casual clothes.
 
A cheque for ?209 was presented to Manx Miracles’ founder Louise Connor by Isle of Man CEO John Coyle and fundraiser, Amanda Younge. Amanda works in Standard Bank’s customer care team and is also on the Manx Miracles’ committee.
 
Manx Miracles is a parent led Isle of Man charity for children who have additional needs and disabilities. Louise founded the charity after her own son struggled with a collection of medical difficulties. The money from Standard Bank went towards the charity’s first objective, which was to create a sensory playroom at the Pre-School Assessment centre.
 
Amanda Younge is involved with Manx Miracles and so asked her colleagues at Standard Bank to make the charity their chosen ‘dress down day’ recipient for three months: ‘The staff were very enthusiastic, and it is great to know that simply by ‘dressing down’ for those three days, we were able to play a part in getting the sensory playroom created. It is such an easy and fun way to be able to make a difference to a local charity.’
 
The charity particularly focuses on helping children with physical and/or learning disabilities to reach their potential.  CEO, John Coyle was interested to learn about Manx Miracles from Louise: ‘Local charities like this, which are making a real difference for people in our community, are what these kinds of fundraisers are all about. Louise’s dedication and enthusiasm in helping other families like her own, as well as supporting the specialists in the island who in turn support them, is inspirational. I’m proud that our staff at Standard Bank have been able to help.’
