Unemployment falls in February

by isleofman.com 13th March 2014
Unemployment has fallen on the Island, according to figures from the Treasury’s Economic Affairs Division.

At the end of February, 1,146 people - 813 men and 333 women - were out of work, giving an unemployment rate of 2.6%.

The totals are slightly lower than last year’s February tally, and shows joblessness has fallen since reaching a peak in January.

The Treasury says 570 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre, and at the end of February 364 of those were still held on file.
