Police issue warning following "scam" calls

by isleofman.com 14th March 2014
Police have received several reports of ‘scam’ calls over recent weeks made by individuals claiming to be representatives of one of two companies. On each occasion, the callers have asked for bank details to be disclosed over the telephone and claim to be employed by ‘Sky’ or ‘Vibrus’. These callers appear to target elderly members of the local community and are extremely persistent.

Please be aware that legitimate companies will never ask for personal information to be disclosed in this manner or by any other non-official means.

This is a somewhat recurring issue which Police are aware of.

If you have any concerns please contact PC 304 Lana Gardener at  Castletown Police Station on 822222.
