Travelwatch gathering this morning

by isleofman.com 15th March 2014

The Isle of Man's ever-changing air services will be high on the agenda when the Island’s passenger watchdog meets this morning

Ferry schedules, bus fares and updates on wind farm plans are also expected to feature in TravelWatch’s latest public gathering at the Villa Marina in Douglas.

It will be followed by the group’s annual general meeting at 12.30.
With ongoing uncertainty, much of the discussion is expected to focus on the battle to safeguard Island air routes.
The Island is losing four more air routes this summer; Bristol, Luton, Jersey and Southampton.
FlyBe is due to end its Gatwick service at the end of this month, as well as closing its Island base with the loss of 49 jobs.
Members of the public will also have an opportunity to speak for up to three minutes on a travel topic of their choice.

The meeting starts at ten o’clock, doors open at nine thirty.
