MEA overhead cable plans

by isleofman.com 15th March 2014
The Manx Electricity Authority says it is hoping to move some overhead power cables in the wake of the damage suffered during last year’s snowstorms.

Almost a year since the West of the Island was buried under heavy snow, the MEA says it’s found a section it’s replacing is too close to buildings under modern guidelines.

It has now applied to move 11 poles carrying 33 kilovolt lines between Ballaquine Farm and Ballacarnane Mooar Farm in Kirk Michael.
You can find out more about the plans, and have your say on them, on the government’s website
