Barge not beach fireworks this year

by isleofman.com 15th March 2014

This year’s council fireworks display in Douglas will be let off from a barge rather than on the beach.
The Regeneration and Community Advisory Committee says it took concerns about health and safety into account when it opted for the slightly more expensive option.
Four suppliers submitted quotations, and the corporation says Star Fireworks of Berkshire won the contract.
The event, sponsored for the fourth year by Celton Manx, will take place on Friday, November 7.
