Customers can still have their benefits paid at post offices

by isleofman.com 19th March 2014
The Department of Social Care wishes to confirm that its customers can still choose to have their benefit paid by way of vouchers, cashable at a post office.

Minister for Social Care, Howard Quayle MHK said, “Earlier this month the Department wrote again to around 3,200 child benefit customers urging them to fill in their re-claim form for child benefit and return it to the Department. That form stated that customers with a bank or building society account would have their child benefit paid into that account by direct credit transfer from April. I would like to confirm that anyone – whether they have a bank or building society account or not – can choose to have their child benefit paid at a post office, rather than into a bank or building society account.”

The Minister went on to say, “Anyone wishing to be paid their child benefit at a post office should write that on their claim form. If they have already sent their re-claim form to the Department giving their bank account details, but would prefer to be paid at a post office, they should get in touch with the Child Benefit Unit by e-mail at childbenefit.dsc@gov.im or by telephoning 685107.”
