UK budget costs Island ?300,000

Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says the UK’s budget unveiled by Chancellor George Osbourne yesterday will cost the Island ?300,000 a year.

Mr Teare says although a range of measures to support UK businesses were announced, he doesn’t expect them to damage the Island’s economy.

But also in the UK budget were a range of announcements about duty on alcohol and tobacco sales.

Mr Teare says it’s those areas which could end up costing the Manx exchequer:Clip 1
