Minister would welcome cut in Douglas council numbers

by isleofman.com 20th March 2014

The Island's new infrastructure minister says he'd welcome a reduction in the number of Douglas councillors.
Laurence Skelly admitted any move by the corporation to cut its members by a third - from 18 to 12 - would receive department support.
He was speaking in Tynwald, which approved a plan to reduce the number of Castletown commissioners from nine to seven from May 2016.
