Albany Tennis latest news

by isleofman.com 20th March 2014

It’s a week for FINAL reminders firstly all members interested in playing men’s or Women’s league tennis need to inform the coach Ian Watson (ianwatsonptr@manx.net) or myself (albanytennispr@manx.net) by at the very latest this coming Saturday 22 March. We have to inform the IOMLTA League Secretary before 28 March how many teams we will enter this year.

The leagues will start in April.

Saturday (22nd) is also the closing date for entries for the Albany/Nedgroup Junior Open tournament – entries again to Ian Watson or me, or if you have the form put it in the white post box in the clubroom. This is open to non-club members and events are U8,U9,U10,U12 and U18 singles. Any queries phone Ian .496293

The new Wednesday tennis mornings have got off to a good start with fine weather and good support though the male members of our club are still a bit shy. The ladies would like to play mixed doubles. It is from 10am – 12noon and you can bring a guest on 3 occasions. After that if they wish to continue they will be asked to become a full member.

There is a league match this coming Sunday and courts 2 and 3 will be in use from 3pm – 6pm. This should be the final match of the winter season which we have struggled to complete because of the awful weather.
