Reigning TT champ takes no.1 plate

by isleofman.com 20th March 2014

Twenty-times TT winner John McGuinness will lead a field of high calibre challengers at TT 2014.

McGuinness, who raced on the number 3 plate last year to the late Joey Dunlop's first TT win for Honda,is reverting back to
number 1 on the grid.

Race organisers say the experienced rider will be expected to use the advantage of the clear road to try and break the chasing pack - but McGuinness faces some stiff competition from the likes of James Hillier, Ian Hutchinson who won all five solo races in 2010 and returns to a hero's welcome, Guy Martin, Bruce Anstey and Michael Dunlop, who almost swept the board last year, with four solo wins.

A spokesman said of the front-runners: 'It’s a top twenty packed with established race winners, regular front runners and
exciting new talent.'
