Department of Health responds to inquest findings

by isleofman.com 21st March 2014
The Department of Health has now issued a response to the findings of the Michael Davidson inquest.
Mr Davidson was in prison custody when he died on March 13, 2012.
This week, a jury returned a verdict of accidental death, but said neglect had been a contributing factor.
The cause of death was drug toxicity, due to a combination of prescribed drugs - methadone, diazepam and dihydrocodeine.
The Department of Health says it accepts the 15 recommendations made by the coroner of inquests.
It says it will now work to consider those fully, and bring in any changes deemed necessary as quickly as possible.
A review, and other improvements have been made since Mr Davidson's death.
The department has offered its condolences to his family and friends.
It has also thanked witnesses for their cooperation, some of whom have since retired and moved off- Island.
