Department of Health statement following inquest into death of Michael Davidson

The Department of Health wishes to express its sincere condolences to Mr Davidson’s family and friends following the conclusion of the inquest into his death.
 
Since the inquest was opened the Department has sought to fully assist the Coroner in his inquiry.  The Department accepts the narrative verdict of the jury and the set of 15 recommendations made by the Coroner.  The Department will work to consider the recommendations fully and implement any necessary changes as a matter of urgency.
 
Following Mr Davidson’s death a full and comprehensive review took place and processes have already been put in place to make improvements in care.
 
The Department wishes to extend its thanks to the witnesses for their cooperation, some of whom have since retired and have moved off the Island.
