Douglas Royal are Island women’s champions again.
They regained the trophy in style, winning 5-1 at Colby yesterday (Sunday) to secure their fifth Warehouse Fitness Limited league title.
After the southerners took an early lead courtesy of Becky Corkish, Royal took control through Becci Pate (two), Rebecca Cole, Donna Shimmin and Siobhann Lockwood.
The team they toppled as champions, Corinthians, sealed the runners-up spot with an 8-1 victory over Gymns.
A hat-trick from Kiera Morgan, doubles from Alcivarne McGreggor and Jade Burden and one from Hattie Castle meant Bekki Ringham’s strike was a mere consolation.
