Union head to meet chief minister

by isleofman.com 24th March 2014
The leader of a large UK union is to meet the chief minister for the first time.
General Secretary of Prospect Mike Clancy is to hold talks with Chief Minister Allan Bell on Wednesday.
He’ll also meet members of his union.
With the majoroty of Prospect’s 1,900 on-Island members in public sector jobs, it’s no surprise where Mike Clancy’s efforts are concentrated.
Last November, he warned that reducing the size of government may not prove a 'quick-fix' in cutting costs.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, he said he expected a ‘candid discussion’ about the immediate challenges and future of the island.
