Twenty-nine prospective Newcomers, whose intention is to enter, qualify and race in this year’s Newcomers Manx Grand Prix and in most cases one of the other four Manx Grand Prix races that are part of the Festival of Motorcycling.

Furthest travelled are Martial Mourra and Julien Toniutti from Reims and Oingt, France, the remainder of the party coming from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Eire.

The trades and professions of the visitors is varied encompassing design, rail, motor-sport and gas engineers; builder and painters; specialist haulier to retired police officer and company director of a porta-loo business and of course a motorcycle shop owner.

All have one common aim to learn as much as they can over the weekend to further their ambitions to race on the most famous 37.73-mile ribbon of road known world-wide as the Mountain Course in the Isle of Man at the Manx Grand Prix.
