Working group to investigate future parking options

by isleofman.com 25th March 2014
It's estimated an extra 750 car parking spaces will need to be created in the capital over the next 13 years.
The figure was revealed by new Infrastructure Minister Laurence Skelly in the House of Keys this morning.
Answering a question from West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas, Mr Skelly said an officer-led working group had been set up and would work with local authorities around the Island.
He said that would include options to create a multi-storey car park and possible off-street charging policy.
Mr Skelly vowed to consult widely and also estimated demand in Douglas would mean an extra fifty spaces will have to be created by 2017 and an extra 450 spaces by 2022.
