No immediate plans for open seas policy

by isleofman.com 25th March 2014
There are no immediate plans to investigate an "open seas" policy for the Island.
The issue of the user agreement was raised in questions in Keys today (Tues) by West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas.
He wanted to know whether calls for open expressions of interest for ro-ro services to and from the Island would be invited, before any agreement with the Steam Packet to extend the current Linkspan user agreement beyond 2026.
Infrastructure Minister Laurence Skelly said any negotiations on the user agreement would come before Tynwald but he believed there was a big difference between an "open skies" and "open seas" policy . .
