Social Security and national insurance under scrutiny

by isleofman.com 27th March 2014
The government’s handling of social security and national insurance is under scrutiny at a public hearing this afternoon (Thurs).
Former Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw and department chief executive Yvette Mellor are due to give evidence to Tynwald’s public accounts committee.
The sitting was prompted by a House of Keys question from West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas last November which led Mr Robertshaw to reveal a firm of consultants had been commissioned to assist the department and Treasury at a cost of ?775,000.
The sitting in the Legislative Council Chamber is open to the public and starts at three o’clock.
