Win and lead for Kennaugh in Italy

by isleofman.com 28th March 2014
Manx cyclist Peter Kennaugh has won the second stage of the Coppi e Bartali race in Italy and taken the overall lead.
He went on the attack after an 8th place on the opening stage won by fellow Onchan resident and Sky team-mate Ben Swift.
Kennaugh escaped with Francesco Bongiorno on the 160km stage, and then powered away from the Italian to take the victory.
He has a 42 second advantage over the same rider in the General Classification.
There are two stages to go - a full one tomorrow and a 10km Individual Time Trial on Sunday.
