Congratulatory messages to celebrate special birthdays and anniversaries

by isleofman.com 31st March 2014

Do you have family or friends who are preparing to celebrate a special birthday or wedding anniversary?

Then Government House would like to hear from you.

Congratulatory messages are delivered to people in the Isle of Man to mark their 100th and 105th birthdays, as well as 60th, 65th and 70th anniversaries.

For many people, receiving a card from Her Majesty The Queen is a memorable part of their celebrations.

Uniquely, the Island’s Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood also sends congratulatory messages to local residents celebrating 90th birthdays and 50th wedding anniversaries.

Government House works closely with the Anniversaries Office at Buckingham Palace to arrange for personalised messages to be sent to people in the Isle of Man.

All arrangements for cards and visits are handled by Government House and people are urged to pass on relevant certificates and information no more than four weeks before the special day by emailing government.house@gov.im calling 620147 or writing to Government House, Onchan, IM3 1RR.

The Lieutenant Governor said: ‘People are always thrilled to receive a personalised message of congratulations from Her Majesty The Queen. Assisting the arrangements is an enjoyable part of the diverse functions performed by Government House and I have met some fascinating people. We want to ensure that people in the Isle of Man don’t miss out and would encourage family and friends to get in touch.’
