by isleofman.com 31st March 2014

Sometime between 10.30pm on Monday 17th March 2014 and 02:00am on Tuesday 18th March 2014, a unit in Balthane was broken into.  A large amount of cash and ?40.00 worth of Isle of Man Stamps in booklets were taken.

Officers would like to take this opportunity to remind small business that are located in isolated areas such as this to take whatever basic crime prevention steps they can to prevent instances like this occurring.

Simple measures such as removing all cash and valuables overnight and ensuring that all windows and doors are locked are useful in reducing the opportunities for thieves to target properties.

Basic security lights, alarms and CCTV are also simple yet effective in protecting your businesses and property.
