Ramsey Men's Darts League Results & Report

by isleofman.com 31st March 2014

Week 16 and it was time for the boys from the Plough A to celebrate as they sewed the title up in style by beating second placed The Swan 6-3.

The game was always going to be a close one and it ended all square on legs to show you just how close.

The Plough boys totally deserved the title with their devastating performances all season. Gazza Uren was on fire hitting 8 ton+ scores including a 105 finish and a 18 dart leg but this was Geoff Howlands night, he has showed some power scoring this year, but he left the best for when it was needed 3-2 down the Plough were and Geoff was up against Palmer. He quite literally ripped Paul to pieces with a professional darts game of 3x100 120 4x140 145 180 and missing double 318 for a 10 darter but he still finished with a 14 and 15 dart leg game and an average over 100. For the Swan, Wayne Harrison was the only singles winner with all the others going 2-1 the way of the Plough.

Commie 5 - 4 Stanley:
This was a great win for the Commie boys but tonight was all about Mick "the machine" Walsh who has become a great friend of many and we will all miss you Mick, not only your fantastic darts, but your great personality. Also good to see the power house Barry Sharpe back playing after his little one was born.

Bar Logo 5 - 4 Plough B:
Yes its not a mistake the logo were on the right side of a 5-4 for once and i am chuffed for them as the Plough outfit are a great side. Their usually suspects Andy Evans (7 ton+ scores and a 20darter) Alan Young (6 ton+ and a 21 darter) set the footings but it still needed Conall Hughes and Dave "Bingo" Lee to win the last two games to take the prize. For the Plough side Mac MacDoanld (3 tons) and Jamie Kelly (7 tons) were the only singles winners.

Mitre 2 - 7 Commie Raven:
The Commie boys do it every year and they have done it again.  What a win against a formidable Mitre side, to be fair the Mitre boys simply didn't turn up this week but that doesn't take anything away from the Commie victory.
