First major professional win for Kennaugh

by isleofman.com 31st March 2014
Manxman Peter Kennaugh has secured his first major stage race win, winning the Settimana Coppi e Bartali in Italy on Sunday.
The Onchan rider went into Sunday's final time trial stage with a 42-second lead over second-placed Manuel Bongiorno (Bardiani-CSF).
And although he completed the final stage out of the top 10, he had enough of a cushion to clinch the overall win.
Kennaugh’s team-mate Dario Cataldo won the time trial and moved up to second overall for his efforts.
It capped a memorable week for Team Sky.
