Toilet tax comes in today

The government’s controversial “toilet tax” comes into force today, as the water authority and Manx Electricity Authority begin to merge.

Despite widespread protest and a 6,000 name petition against the ?50 flat fee, Tynwald voted 24 to nine to introduce it from today.

There’s a five per cent discount for prompt payment, meaning you’ll save ?2.50 if it’s paid by the end of June.
