Following on from last year’s tremendous success, Braddan Parish Commissioners will again be holding their Parish Day celebrations on Strang Corner Field adjacent to Nobles Hospital.
This year it will be held on the first Bank Holiday in May, the 5th , which is earlier in the year, in an attempt to have slightly better weather.
The concept remains the same which is, it is an opportunity for local businesses to promote themselves, it is to allow local charities to raise much needed funds, and finally it is to provide free children’s entertainment.
With the benefit of having more time for planning this year than last, the event will be bigger with better and more diverse attractions.
For the children there be running games and competitions, numerous inflatable bouncy castles, a number of rides, a demonstration of circus skills by “The Play People” and even an opportunity to have a go themselves.
For the adults, music will be provided by the Manx Jazz Aces band and a farmers market will again be a popular attraction.
The event starts at 12 noon and finishes at 4pm with adequate parking on the field.
It will be opened and closed by school choirs from the Parish.
Again the Commissioners are grateful for the generous contributions from the local businesses that have helped toward funding the free children’s entertainment, as well as the very generous prizes for the raffle that will be held on the day.
Whilst the children’s entertainment is free, the Commissioners would encourage people to give generously to the charity buckets and stalls around the field.
