Ramsey Men' Darts League Report & Results

by isleofman.com 4th April 2014
The RAOB club sponsored open pairs was held on Tuesday 1st April and it was great to see some new faces coming down for a throw from Douglas.

First round:

A big shock, Tony Kennaugh and his partner Bowden going out to Mike Jelski and Conall Hughes 1-2, another surprise as Jamie Skillan and Chris McConnell have been in fantastic form but The Swan boys of Marty Long and John Taylor took them out 2-0, father and son team of James and Neil Crowe beating Nathan Walker and Dan Callow 2-0.

Round 2:

First game of the round and a great win for Bingo and Tank up against the pairing of Lon Chambers and Charlie Cormode. The last of the new faces, Senogles and Bradley, go down fighting to a very excited Jamie Kelly and Tye Jones 2-1.  An easy 2-0 wins to Geoff Howland and Hudgie, Busbie and Jay Radcliffe, Big Wayne and Palmer but not so easy games for Aggie and Geordie and the Crowes both scraping through 2-1.

Quarter finals:

Tank and Bingo put up a great fight against one of the favourites Jamie and Tye but finally lost out 2-1. Geoff and Hudgie helped by a 148 finish, ease past a misfiring Aggie and Geordie 2-0. Andy and Alan finally put pay to Busbie and Jay 2-0. Last game on Wayne and Palmer end the home teams run of the Crowe's 2-0.

Semi finals:

Geoff / Hudgie 2-1 Jamie / Tye

How the Plough A boys won this is beyond me as they should have been sat down 2-0 losers but they showed what true champions are made of and won, thanks to the old favourite one partner hitting the scores and the other the doubles. Geoff and Hudgie into yet another final.

Wayne / Palmer 2-0 Alan / Andy

The Bar Logo boys had been throwing well all night but the trebles deserted them in the semi's as the Swan pair cruised through to their second final in a row and setting up a similar final as the three-a-side.

Final:

Geoff Howland / Andy Hudgeon 3 - 0 Wayne Harrison / Paul Palmer

The final was only going one way as it was made clear after the first round of throws, The Plough A wanted revenge for the defeat they got in The Plough three-a-side.  Hudgie is awesome on the finishing and Geoff is his predictable self as he pounds the treble 20 into submission and yet another title to them.

Back to the league next week with the penultimate round of games. Could you please let me know if you will be entering the ABLEC electrical sponsored handicapped singles which will be held on Tuesday 22nd April being held at Bar Logo. You can contact Paul on 216082.
