FoI consultation ends today

by isleofman.com 4th April 2014
A public consultation on the draft Freedom of Information Bill comes to an end today.
It was originally due to last for six weeks and finish a fortnight ago, but was extended to allow people more time to make submissions.
The proposed legislation as it is would not apply to information pre-dating the start of the current government in October 2011 and could only be used by Isle of Man residents.
The existing Code of Practice would continue to be available for information prior to that date, for requests from off-Island, and for public authorities covered by the code but not yet subject to FoI.
