Douglas Head Lighthouse abseil postponed

by isleofman.com 4th April 2014
Due to the forecast for high winds and heavy rain tomorrow (Saturday April 5) the Douglas Head Lighthouse abseil, which was due to take place from 10am, has been postponed for safety reasons.

The event, organised by The Children’s Centre to raise funds for its charitable projects, will now take place on Saturday April 12 starting at 10am.

Mark Eastham, Fundraising Co-ordinator for The Children’s Centre, has emailed all those who have signed up for the event informing them of the postponement.

Every cloud has a silver lining, and the good news is that the postponement due to the weather means that there is now time for more fundraisers to sign-up to take part. If you want to sign-up, or have any queries about the postponement, call Mark Eastham on 676076 or email fundraising@thechildrenscentre.org.im, or for full details about the event you can go to http://www.thechildrenscentre.org.im/events/take-the-plunge/ where you will find a video featuring stunning aerial views of the lighthouse.
