Ramsey still alive - just!

by isleofman.com 5th April 2014
Douglas’ promotion chances in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One have finally ended.
Their flickering hopes were blown out after they went down to an 18-6 home defeat against Northwich.
Two penalties from Bryn Snellgrove provided their only bright spot.
Despite tries from Mark Oldfield, Luke Robertson, Pete Richardson, Steve Cleator, who also notched a penalty try, along with a Dan Bonwick penalty and conversion, Ramsey went down 45-30 at Port Sunlight in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two.
However, Ramsey’s bonus point means they still retain a chance to avoid relegation.
Their cause wasn’t helped as fellow strugglers Dukinfield saw off Vagabonds 24-12.
Vagabonds B continued their fine season and their fine form against Southern Nomads by winning 38-29 in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy.
Tries from Kim Tomlinson (two), James Clark (two), Chris Vorster and James Leece led them to a hard-earned victory, with Jonny Beckley’s four conversions also proving crucial.
Emerging Nomads edged out Western Vikings with a 29-25 victory in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Bowl.
Tries from Dan Brindle, Joe Callaghan, Kieron Stevens and Dave Prince, along with a penalty and three conversions from Mark Lean, secured an away victory.
