Stage Door Entertainment are looking for enthusiastic and committed performers between the ages of 8 and 15 to take part in an exciting Summer School, run by seasoned performers Kristene Sutcliffe and Lisa Kreisky, to be held from 9th – 23rd August 2014 at the Ballakermeen Studio Theatre

Kristene graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2006 with a BA (Hons) Degree in Opera and Vocal Studies. During her professional singing career she performed all over the UK and Europe returning to the Island to run a busy teaching practice. She has also worked as assistant musical director for local societies and is a regular performer at the Gaiety and Villa Marina.

Lisa graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts with a BA (Hons) degree in Performance in 2001 and has since enjoyed a professional career on Stage and Screen throughout the UK and Europe. Lisa returned to the Island in 2007 and was delighted to be welcomed back into the thriving Manx Theatre scene. Lisa’s on Island Performances include: Velma in Hairspray, Mari in Little Voice and Rizzo in Grease to name but a few.

Students will take part in daily workshops and will be coached in Confidence Building, Improvisation and Creative Thinking, Audition Technique, Professionalism and Theatre Etiquette, Stage Craft and Spatial Awareness, Vocal Technique and Breath Control, Vocal Projection, Dance and Movement, Musicality, Part Singing and Harmony, Costume Design and Stage Combat

“Our aim is that every student receives a valuable and worthwhile experience at the Summer School” said Lisa.  “Using Disney’s Aladdin Jr as a template, there will be a Showcase performance on Saturday 23rd August.  Tickets will be on sale to the general public for this.”

 “We envisage the showcase to be ensemble piece, so that every student will have their chance to shine.” said Kristene. “There will be a meet and greet workshop on 14th June 2014, therefore, application closes on 7th June 2014.  There are limited spaces available, so we are acting on a purely first come first served basis. “
