First Tynwald of new government era

by isleofman.com 8th April 2014

The first Tynwald in the new political era gets under way this morning.
It's one of the lightest order papers there has been for some time, but there are still some items likely to generate some debate.
There are 24 items on the order paper, with the report on the strategy for offshore energy production kicking off the main proceedings.
Members will then discuss the idea of a centralised pupil database.
Among the acts are a clarification of claims that can be made under the Countryside Care Scheme and regulations which will allow children who can't live with their parents continued links with them, while giving parental responsibility to another caregiver.
The sitting will start as usual with questions - there are 16 for oral answer - nearly half about the National Insurance and Social Security policy review.
Our coverage starts at 10:30 this morning on AM 1368 and online at manxradio.com.
