Developer agrees to 'open day'

by isleofman.com 9th April 2014

The owner of the controversial Callow's Yard development has agreed to open up his premises for the public to ask
questions.

Local people concerned about the future of the site in the centre of Castletown recently called on the local authority to hold a requisition meeting. Castletown Commissioners has organised a public meeting for Tuesday April 15 at 7pm in the town's civic hall.

Meanwhile, Roy Tilleard's architect Tony Lloyd-Daves and property manager Jane Hill will be on hand at 6 Arbory Street this
Saturday between 10am and 2pm to discuss the latest plans for Callow's Yard.

The politician responsible for retail and regeneration at the Department of Economic Development, Graham Cregeen MHK said: 'The department is committed to promoting the regeneration of Castletown for the benefit of its residents, businesses and the very many visitors who come to the town every year. Following on from the concerns raised at the recent Commissioners' meeting, the subsequent request for a public meeting by Castletown Commissioners and in the interests of encouraging a better relationship between all parties, I asked Mr Tilleard to consider hosting an open day so that Castletown residents and interested parties can see first-hand what the plans for Callow’s Yard are.'

The latest plans for the site will be on display on Saturday.
