Public meeting called to discuss Callow's Yard future

by isleofman.com 9th April 2014
A public meeting's been called in Castletown next week to offer local people a say over future development at Callow's Yard.
A requisition meeting called for by residents and traders earlier this week has been granted.
It will be held next Tuesday 15 April, at 7pm in Castletown Town Hall, chaired by the former president of Tynwald and Arbory resident Noel Cringle.
Local commissioners are inviting all residents and ratepayers to give their views on proposals by Callow's Yard owner Roy Tilleard to build more residential units at the complex.
The scheme involves conversion of a bar-restaurant and alterations to some existing apartments.
More than 30 local people opposed to the development lobbied Monday night's commissioners' meeting, where they presented a letter seeking a public meeting.
It's unclear whether Mr Tilleard plans to attend next Tuesday.
