Adam leads local contingent in London

Adam Russell produced a fine run to lead home the locals in Sunday’s Virgin Money London Marathon.

He finished the event in an impressive time of two hours, 47 minutes and 18 seconds.

Chris Shimmin (2.58.47), Ian Goatman (3.00.53), Andrew Bargery (3.09.19) and Nigel Armstrong (3.13.23) were close behind, while Rosy Craine was the first Manx woman finisher in a fine 3.16.04.

Helen Taylor was the second woman finisher (3.29.24).
Rally co-driver Andrew Bargery was the first Manx born finisher. He now lives in Hove.

More than 31 Island runners competed.
