Jaks reopens after fire

by isleofman.com 22nd April 2014

Jaks has reopened after last week's major blaze.

Fire broke out on Wednesday evening, with more than 200 people evacuated from the bar and restaurant on Loch promenade in Douglas. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

The directors of Jaks have praised everyone who helped deal with the blaze, stating: 'We would like to thank a number of people who have gone out of their way to help us since the fire on Wednesday night including the MEA, Ardern and Druggan, the Isle of Man Fire Service and perhaps most importantly our staff who have done a fantastic job of helping to clean up and get us open again. Once again we would also like to say 'thank you' to our loyal customers and other Manx residents who have sent us their kind messages of support in recent days.'
