Businesses are being offered the chance to sponsor The Children’s Centre’s ever popular annual golf day which will be held at Douglas Golf Club on June 20. It is a major fundraising event for the Island’s leading charity for families and children which has raised more than ?45,000 since it was first held in 2007. There are a number of corporate sponsorship opportunities available starting at ?50. Susie Cox, Community Fundraiser at The Children’s Centre, said:
“Our Golf Day is a great event to promote brand awareness and there are a range of mini sponsorship packages available including the prizes for the winning team and runners-up, 18th hole official team photos, plus the longest drive and beat the pro competitions. Sponsorship includes brand presence in all media literature, online coverage and social media mentions, plus having the sponsor’s logo featured on banners in exclusive locations, and a chance to participate in the prize presentation. Our annual Golf Day is a very important event on our fundraising calendar and all of the proceeds go to support our charitable projects which help thousands of families and children across the Island. But, in addition to raising funds for these vital projects, the day is also a lot of fun and we do everything we can to make sure it’s a great day out for all those who take part.”
The Golf Day – which also features a nearest the pin competition sponsored by MAC Financial – starts at 11am with breakfast baps, tea and coffee followed by registration which opens at noon. Teams will make their way onto the course at 12.45pm with the tournament starting at 1pm. The format is a shotgun start, four person Stableford AM-AM with the best two scores from each hole to count. Men will play from yellow tees, and ladies from red tees. Maximum handicap for men is 24, and 30 for ladies. The day finishes with a meal and prize presentation. The entry fee is ?300 per team, or ?500 for two teams. Closing date for entries is May 9.
