Appliance warnings from OFT

by isleofman.com 25th April 2014

The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading has issued public warnings about a faulty tablet charger and a faulty Tesco kettle.

The OFT says a charger sold exclusively with the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet and the same tablet's travel charger could deliver an electric shock to users. Nokia has advised all Lumia 2520 tablet owners to stop using the charger (pictured) immediately.

The OFT also wants to make public a recall notice from Tesco for the chain's Rapid Boil Kettle model number JKRBP12. The bottom of the kettle may become detached, with a risk of burning or scalding to the user. Only this model number with a batch code that starts 13xxxx is affected.

People who have the faulty kettle should return it to Tesco for a full refund. The OFT says no receipt is required.
