Debutant Kneen seals Cookstown glory

by isleofman.com 26th April 2014
Manxman Dan Kneen secured a debut to remember by winning the feature race at the Cookstown 100 road races on Saturday.

The newcomer, riding for John Burrows's BE Cookstown Racing team, won from the second group by 0.3 seconds from William Dunlop to take the victory on corrected time from the Tyco TAS Suzuki rider.

Derek McGee was third.

Michael Dunlop rode through the pain barrier to secure a brace of wins in the Supersport 600cc race two and the Supertwins.

He will now undergo surgery on an arm injury sustained at Brands Hatch last week.

Derek Sheils was also a double winner, taking the flag in the opening Supersport outing and the Open race.
