Protest over ferry treatment

by isleofman.com 28th April 2014

A mother says she will stage a protest against what she claims is the Steam Packet Company's 'disablist' attitude.

Jan Jordan is using facebook to call on supporters to join her at 5.30pm today at the Sea Terminal. She's unhappy with the ferry company's response to a complaint from her son's girlfriend, who uses a wheelchair and who was trapped in the disabled toilet on the Ben my Chree for over an hour.

Mrs Jordan says: 'She couldn't get out. She spent Christmas and New Year traumatised and black and blue from top to toe.'

She said subsequent correspondence with the Steam Packet had left her horrified and she has described the company's response as prejudiced.
