On Sunday 4th May the Young Magicians of Mann will stage their first full length magic show titled ‘IT’S MAGIC!’ at the Erin Arts Centre, Port Erin at 3pm.
The 18 members of the Young Magicians will be demonstrating magic that is suitable for all the family, and will include some great illusions and a mind-blowing finale that will have the audience leaving the centre with looks of amazement and smiles on their faces. Magic is very popular at the moment, with a number of high profile magicians appearing on television. Magic is always best seen 'live' though, and you can be sure that there are absolutely no camera tricks in 'It's Magic!.
A high quality show can be guaranteed, as the club is run by Mike Clague, Lexi Watterson and Paul Martin - all members of magic's most prestigious club, The Magic Circle.
Mike added "We are really excited about having the opportunity to perform at the EAC, as the venue is ideal for a fun-filled afternoon of excitement and mystery."
The Young Magicians of Mann were formed in 1987 by Mike Clague, after he ran some magic workshops as part of the IOM Youth Festival, organise by the Youth Service. "After the last workshop, I asked the young people if they had any questions" explained Mike, "and they asked if there was a club they could join. There wasn't, so I agreed to start one!" The club has operated continuously since then, and now meets at the Youth Arts Centre in Douglas. Since 1988 they have staged an annual show in Douglas, which has always sold out. At other times, the club members support local charities and are often seen at fairs and fetes amazing those present. More information can be found on their website www.ymom.info.
