Should pensioners pay N.I?

by isleofman.com 2nd May 2014
Should pensioners continue to pay National Insurance on the Island?
That’s the question Onchan MHK Peter Karran wants to know, and will pose to Treasury Minister Eddie Teare in the House of Keys next week.
During questions on Tuesday, he’ll ask Mr Teare how much money would be added to the Island’s NI fund if people over the pension age continued to pay contributions.
It comes after a row involving ministers and Michael MHK Alf Cannan about predictions the fund will collapse in twenty years.
