Dog attack leaves elderly woman wounded

Police in Castletown are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was attacked by a dog in the town.
The Staffie type dog described as dark slate coloured, bolted towards the 70 year old on Victoria Road at around 7.45 pm Friday night (2 May).
The animal was on an extendable lead and is thought to have been called by the name Gina by the woman walking it.
The victim needed hospital treatment for a large bite wound in her leg and police now want to trace the dog and its owner.
Officers say the incident happened near a parked chip van and a number of people will have seen what happened.
