Sewage works would not affect food park, says Gawne

by isleofman.com 6th May 2014
There's very little possibility of the food park in Peel being affected by having a sewage works nearby.
That reassurance came from the environment, food and agriculture minister in the House of Keys this morning.
Phil Gawne said while he was not aware of business operators from the park being formally consulted about the issue, but he denied there would be any risk to food production.
He said there were several examples of sewage works being close to food producers in the United Kingdom without any tainting or contamination being reported.
Mr Gawne said any works in Peel would be totally enclosed to prevent rodent or bird access.
He suggested this was essentially a perception issue:Clip 1
