Shimmin says retail consultation not unusual

by isleofman.com 6th May 2014
The retail consultation process planned for Castletown is not unusual, and is completely in line with other government strategies.
That from Economic Development Minister John Shimmin, who says the aim was to support those affected in the town, and would not be specifically focused on Callow's Yard.
In response to a House of Keys question today, Mr Shimmin said the idea was to review the retail and leisure opportunities in the centre of Castletown and to make helpful recommendations.
He said the consultant involved, Martin Sewell, had helped more than 40 retailers across the Island and the whole process would cost less than two-thousand pounds.
Mr Shimmin said the local commissioners were fully engaged in the process:Clip 1
