Minister looks for national engagement

by isleofman.com 7th May 2014
The Minister for Policy and Reform is looking at ways of encouraging as many people as possible to have their political say.
Chris Robertshaw says there's going to be a national debate this July and August, which will see him and the Treasury Minister hold meetings with the public.
The concept is to generate ideas which will help formulate policy initiatives on medium and long term issues facing the Island.
But Mr Robertshaw admits it isn't always easy to get people to speak up, and it's often the same people who come forward with their thoughts.
So he's considering a new way of encouraging the silent majority.
