Henry Bloom Noble Library all teed up for May

The Henry Bloom Noble Library comes to the fore again on Wednesday May 7th at 7.30pm when Isle of Man Golf Union president Roy Moore will give a talk ‘Golf As I See It’ on the history of Douglas golf course and golf in the island generally. Tickets are free and can be collected in advance at the library’s ground-floor counter.

In support of the talk Mr Moore has provided material covering the history of Douglas golf club which is being displayed on the library’s second floor.

For May the library has taken Mind and Body as its Island of Culture theme with displays on all floors promoting ways to improve physical and mental wellbeing; ground and first floors are displaying books on mediation and self help and visitors have an opportunity to share their favourite places for relaxing and reading.

Then on Wednesday May 21st at 7.30pm Brahma Kumaris Isle of Man will present ‘Find Your Missing Peace’. Tickets are free and can be collected in advance from the library’s ground-floor counter.

Throughout May a quiz devised by Roy Moore and based on Douglas street names is running. Entry forms can be downloaded from library.douglas.gov.im and closing date for entries is Saturday May 31st. You can submit your entries to the ground-floor counter or email library@douglas.gov.im
