A charity appeal led by the Mayor of Douglas during her year in office has raised more than ?14,000.
The figure was revealed by Mayor Councillor Carol Malarkey at a reception in Douglas town hall when she presented each of her four chosen charities a cheque for ?3,500.
The charities this year were Junior Achievement Isle of Man, Manx Workshop for the Disabled, Tabitha’s Trust and Victim Support.

A sum of ?500 raised from the Deeply Dippy event in January was also presented to the RNLI whilst an ‘oompah’ night raised ?450 for Douglas Town Band.
